Setting up Active Workspace embedded in NX

To enable Active Workspace to work when embedded in NX, create and set the following Teamcenter preferences:

Note	Other preferences needed to install and setup Active Workspace in Teamcenter are described in the Teamcenter Active Workspace Deployment and Active Workspace Quick Start guides.

• ActiveWorkspaceHosting.NX.URL = http://<host>:<port>/awc
  This is the URL used by Teamcenter Integration for NX to launch Active Workspace.
  If this preference is not set, then NX defaults to the preference ActiveWorkspaceHosting.URL.
  If none of these preferences are set, then embedded Active Workspace is not enabled.

  Note	Active Workspace is available only when you are running Teamcenter 4-tier deployment architecture.

• AWC_NX_OpenSupportedTypes
  This enables the specified object types to be opened in NX when selected in Active Workspace. Only Item, ItemRevision, and dataset types and subtypes are supported.
  Add the values as applicable to your site from the available types provided OOTB. You can also add additional object types in accordance with the requirements at your site.
  The following values are available out of the box:
  
  
  • Item
  • ItemRevision
  • UGMASTER
  • UGALTREP
  • DirectModel
  • UGPART
  • CAEGeom
  • CAEMesh
  • CAESolution
  • NxMotion
    
    
• AWC_NX_AddComponentSupportedTypes
  This enables the specified object types to be added as a component in NX when selected in Active Workspace. Only Item, ItemRevision, and dataset types and subtypes are supported.
